SHOW HOUSE HISTORY

For more than half a century, the Kips Bay Decorator Show House has been one of the most anticipated and influential events in the world of interior design. Established in 1973 by several dedicated supporters of the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club, the Show House began as a creative and philanthropic endeavor to raise critical funds for the Club’s life-changing after-school and enrichment programs for New York City children.

Each year, a team of the nation’s most celebrated interior designers is invited to transform a luxury Manhattan residence into a stunning design showcase. The event quickly gained prestige and has become a must-see attraction for thousands of design enthusiasts, press, and industry professionals. Beyond offering a platform for groundbreaking design and innovation, the Show House serves a higher purpose—empowering young people with the resources, mentorship, and opportunities they need to reach their full potential.

Recognizing the potential to extend both its mission and design influence, the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club expanded the Show House to Palm Beach in 2017. With its unique architectural charm and thriving design community, Palm Beach became a natural second home for the brand. The Palm Beach edition has since become a seasonal staple, and in March 2025, the eighth annual Kips Bay Palm Beach Decorator Show House successfully concluded, continuing to raise significant funds for both the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County.

Inspired by the success in Florida, the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club brought the Show House concept to Dallas, Texas in the fall of 2020. Deep in the heart of a city known for its blend of traditional elegance and bold creativity, the inaugural Kips Bay Decorator Show House Dallas made an immediate impact. Now in its fifth year, the Dallas Show House—most recently held in Fall 2024—has established itself as a major design event in the Southwest, with proceeds also benefiting local children’s charities including Dwell with Dignity and The Crystal Charity Ball.

With each new location and every edition, the Kips Bay Decorator Show House continues to celebrate exceptional design while supporting a powerful mission: to uplift and inspire the next generation of leaders.
