Cathy Kincaid - Cathy Kincaid Interiors (Hynsworth Photography).jpg

Cathy Kincaid’s enviable sense of color and intricate design detail has established her as one of the country’s top designers and an editorial favorite whose work is published internationally. For more than 30 years, Kincaid has designed houses for her clients that are as individual as they are. A recipient of the ICAA’s John Staub Award, Kincaid is highly respected for her commitment to restoring old houses and filling them with traditionally stylish antiques and furnishings. From a historic Beaux Arts Estate in Dallas and a 1750’s Ship Captain’s Cottage in Old Lyme, CT to a Mas de Baraquet in the South of France, Kincaid’s interiors evoke a sense of comfortable elegance that remains unmatched. Kincaid offers a diverse combination of old and new design elements, but her primary goal as a designer remains: to create inviting, livable spaces with her clients’ happiness the top priority.

Kincaid has worked on a number of houses designed by noted Dallas architect Hal Thompson – whose work is compared to John Staub in Houston or David Adler in the Midwest. “One of the things I love about restoring houses is the value of ‘the mix.’ It is the one aspect of design that I adhere to—the old with the new, the ornate with the simple, the refined with the rustic. This approach expresses the personality of the client and charms their guests,” says Kincaid.

Jason Jones had been a goal setter his entire life, and while working his way through college at a bank, he showed his parents the highrise building close by.  He told them that he was going to live there someday . . . and he did.  He also spoke of a very well-known designer that lived in the penthouse and how he wanted to work for him someday . . . and he did.

Tom Chandler taught and trained Jason about the business of everything from how to work with clients, listen to their conversations well enough to know their needs and personalities, likes and wants and after learning all these aspects, help guide them and find products and furnishings that make their homes a palette of their personalities.  He also taught him the most important lesson that results in success . . . if you respect their needs you develop a true friendship that lasts a lifetime.

Wanting to keep each job to fit the personality of his clients, he keeps each project fresh and searches out furnishings that work for them.  And his mind is always up for new adventures like designing planes, trains and sailboats.  He enjoys all aspects of helping clients as their family grows from nurseries, to college dorms, and onto first apartments & homes for their children.

Simms Hayes Design--15.jpg

Texas based designer, Julie Simms Hayes, found her love for interior design in a circuitous way. After attending Vanderbilt University, Julie began her post-graduate career in the financial sector. While skilled at math and effortless at crunching numbers, Julie quickly discovered that a desk job wasn't filling her creative cup. Yearning to work in an industry of art, design, and architecture, Julie realized that a career in interior design would allow her to use her natural talents. With her knack for drawing and her keen ability to listen and facilitate clients' goals Julie launched Simms Hayes Design. Most impressive is Julie's philosophy of treating each project as a personal expression of her client. She does this through the study of space, attention to detail and her bold and brave use of color. This is perhaps what singles her out as one of the country's premier interior designers.
